With the D23 Expo currently underway and the Disney Animation panel providing plenty of juicy info on upcoming films, we’ve got some more details regarding The Incredibles 2. We’ve known about the highly anticipated sequel to 2004’s superhero flick for a while now, and now we know just how much time will have passed between the first film and its sequel.
The answer is not much.
Speaking to IGN, Pixar chief creative officer John Lasseter confirmed that The Incredibles 2 begins immediately after the events of the first film.
“It starts right as the first one finishes, so it just carries on,” Lasseter said, adding that only “a minute” will have passed. He added, “It starts with the Underminer and a big old set piece. You know that at the end of the first movie when he comes up and you see the family dressed as superheroes, well that’s where start this movie.”
As a reminder, here’s how the first Incredibles ended:
The Incredibles 2 opens in theatres in 3D June 15, 2018.
