New adventures coming to Epcot’s Mission: SPACE in August

Epcot - Mission: SPACE

With all of the excitement coming out of D23 Expo this past weekend, it’s understandable if you missed the announcement that Mission: SPACE at Epcot is getting a bit of an update.

Opened in 2003, Mission: SPACE allows guests to become NASA astronauts and journey on a thrilling adventure to Mars. The riders assume one of four roles — navigator, pilot, commander, or engineer — and experience what a journey to Mars would feel like, while performing a series of small tasks.

Well this August, that mission is about to get an update. The Orange Mission (the more intense training experience) is getting an update that’ll make it “an even more visually stunning trip to Mars.” The less intense Green Mission will allow guests to blast off for an orbital adventure around planet Earth.

The new Mission: SPACE adventures will begin in August.

That’s not all the new space stuff coming to Epcot either. Disney also revealed that a new space-theme restaurant will be opening in Epcot, adjacent to Mission: SPACE.
